Ontario has issued more invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to Express Entry candidates through its Skilled Trades and French-Speaking Skilled Workers streams. The new invitation rounds took place May 9 and 10 and are the sixth that Ontario has held in each stream since the end of March. The Ontario through its nomination program selected 48 Express Entry candidates invited in this round through the Skilled trades stream submitted their Express Entry profiles between January 1, 2018, and May 9, 2018. The 18 invited through the French speaking stream submitted their Express Entry profile between January 1, 2018, and May 10, 2018. The Government of Canada has issued 3,500 new Invitations to Apply for Canadian permanent residence to candidates in the Express Entry pool on May 9. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score for the latest draw was 441. Furthermore, the latest draw was not limited to any one specific program managed under the Express Entry system. In order to enter the federal Express Entry pool, individuals need to first meet the eligibility criteria for one of the three immigration programs managed through the Express Entry system. Once in the pool, candidates are assigned a CRS score based on factors, such as education, work experience, language ability, and other criteria. In the last 40 years New Brunswick has been facing shortage of work force and the shortage has been growing significantly in the last few years Economist and author Richard Saillant says it’s only due to the roughly 1,000 immigrants now coming into New Brunswick each year that the province’s workforce isn’t decreasing by 4,000 people a year. in order to stabilize the workforce, we’d need another 2,800 to 3,000 new immigrants annually — and that’s just to stabilize things so the workforce no longer shrinks,” Saillant told CIC News. A new arrangement between Canada and Portugal will give people between the ages of 18 and 35 the opportunity to live and work in either country. Signed May 3, the new bilateral Youth Mobility Arrangement will let 2,000 Canadian and 2,000 Portuguese youth travel and work in each country through the Working Holiday, International Co-op, and Young Professional streams of the International Experience Canada (IEC) program.
