The Canadian province of Ontario has reopened two popular immigration streams for international post-graduates who studied in the province: graduate student from Master and PHD programs in Ontario Immigration nominee program has reached its cap and no longer receives registration. These two streams previously opened last February and May, reaching their intake limits within a few days on both occasions. As of October 11, permanent residents in Canada can apply for Canadian Citizenship a process known as naturalization, more easily and sooner than before, following the implementation of key measures contained in Bill C-6, which was passed into law last June. The government of Nova Scotia has announced that it will accept up to 300 more applications through the province immigration stream, starting at 9 a.m. local time (8 a.m. EST) on Wednesday, October 11. These applications will be accepted under Category B of the stream. A job offer is not required, but eligible Express Entry candidates must have work experience in an eligible occupation. Through this stream, eligible candidates in the Express Entry pool may apply for a provincial nomination through the (NSNP), one of Canada’s (PNPs). Since this is an enhanced Express Entry-aligned stream, successful applicants receive 600 additional (CRS) points and an (ITA) for permanent residence in a subsequent draw from the pool. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 2,801 more candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence, in an Express Entry draw that took place on October 4. Candidates in the pool with 438 or more (CRS) points were issued an (ITA) on this occasion. Invited candidates have 90 days to submit a complete application, including supporting documentation. IRCC aims to complete the processing of these applications within six months, a time frame that has successfully been met in the majority of cases. The trend of low points thresholds in immigration draws conducted by the government of British Columbia remains consistent, as more workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs received an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination under the (BC PNP) based on the last two draws on September 27 and October 4. A total of 377 invitations to apply to the BC PNP were issued over this period, including candidates invited under the program's recent Tech pilot.
