  • Canada’s Immigration Minister Sean Fraser announces work permit extension for PGWP holders

Canada has now extended the validity of interim work authorization for international graduates to 180 days, up from 120 days, to support their transition into the workforce while waiting for work permit decisions.

Provided by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), this extension applies to graduates who apply for their work permit before their study permit expires and meet educational and work-related requirements.

In case of delays beyond 180 days in receiving a work permit decision, graduates can request further authorization from IRCC to ensure they can continue working in Canada.
