Three Canadian regions have released details about their streams under the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP), a program helping French-speaking foreign nationals obtain permanent residence in communities outside Quebec.
Pathway details have been announced for these regions:

Kelowna’s stream highlights roles in health, trades, and service industries. In-demand positions include cooks, early childhood educators, social service workers, electricians, and roofers.
To qualify, applicants must have a job offer in a participating community and meet requirements such as one year of relevant work experience, French language proficiency (NCLC 5 or higher), secondary education or higher, and proof of settlement funds.
How to check if your job is eligible:
Applicants can confirm if their job is included in a community’s priority occupations by first finding their National Occupation Classification (NOC) code. This can be done on the Government of Canada’s official NOC tool: bit.ly/noctool
Once you know your NOC code, check the priority occupation lists for the community you’re interested in:
- Acadian Peninsula (NB): bit.ly/acadianpeninsula
St. Pierre Jolys (MB): bit.ly/pierrejolys
Kelowna (BC): bit.ly/kelownabc
If your NOC code appears on the list, you can contact employers in the community to secure a valid job offer.
