As of May 10, 2017, the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration has resumed receiving online applications to the Nova Scotia skilled worker and the province graduates and workers streams of the province nominee program (NSNP). On May 9, all online application services of the NSNP were unavailable. While service has resumed for the Skilled Worker and Experience: Express Entry streams, no further applications are being received for the occupational list through Express Entry stream.

The NSNP also stated that 'Nova Scotia Demand is expected to open and close over the next year,' a move which the province expects will allow for greater efficiency in the processing of applications.

The NSNP, one of Canada’s Provincial nominee programs (PNPs), allows the government of Nova Scotia welcomes new permanent residents who have the ability to settle in the province.
