Saskatchewan invited 853 candidates with low scores

The province of  Saskatchewan issued 853 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in the largest Expression of Interest draw to date, on October 10.

In this invitation round,  the province issued 359 invitations to Express Entry candidateswith a profile created in its Saskatchewan Expression of Interest (EOI) System pool. The lowest-ranked candidate in the SINP's Express Entry sub-category had a score of 60.

The remaining 494 invitations were issued to candidates in the Occupations In-Demand sub-category with as low as  63 points in CRS

All candidates invited to apply on October 10 had Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to support their profiles.

Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and are effectively guaranteed an Invitation To Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in the next federal Express Entry draw.

The SINP takes the following steps to rank EOI pool candidates:

  • Identify EOI candidates with the highest point score.
  • Prioritize candidates with connections to the province such as receiving points on family relative, past work experience in, and/or past study experience in Saskatchewan.
  • Prioritize candidates with the most work experience years declared and the highest language scores obtained.
