Canada’s PNP immigration results for May 2022

Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) issued over 1,400 invitations to apply for provincial nomination in May.

Alberta

In May, The province invited 100 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. Invited candidates needed a CRS score of at least 382 in order to be invited.

Ontario

Ontario issued 57 invitations to candidates who may be eligible for the Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills stream with a score of 27 and above.The OINP also issued 535 invitations to candidates who may be eligible for Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades stream with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 295 and 461.

Ontario has labour shortages in occupations that are considered to be “low skilled.”Generally, candidates need a high school education, a language score of at least 4 in all proficiencies, and sufficient settlement funds, among other requirements.

British Columbia

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) conducts weekly draws. In May, more than 636 BC immigration candidates received invitations from the province.

Manitoba

Manitoba regularly issues invitations through the following three streams: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas, and International Education Stream. The province held one general draw last month. A total of 315 Letters of Advice to Apply were issued of which 48 were sent to candidates who had a valid Express Entry profile in addition to selection 13 Ukrainian candidates.

New Brunswick

In an update dated May 20, 2022, the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) announced that it was temporarily suspending the New Brunswick Express Entry stream. The province is currently is selecting certain sectors or client types when it is required, such as Internationally Educated Nurses or international students who are currently in New Brunswick and graduating later this year.

Prince Edward Island

The PEI PNP held a draw on May 20 and invited 137 candidates from the Labour Impact and Express Entry streams and 16 from the Business Impact stream.

Quebec

Quebec invited 30 candidates to apply for a permanent selection under the Quebec Regular Skilled Worker Program (QSWP). Candidates had to have profiles in the Arrima Expression of Interest system and to have a valid job offer outside of the Montreal Metropolitan area.

Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan nomination program (SINP) invited a total of 197 candidates A total of 106 invitations went to Express Entry candidates and 91 invitations went to Occupations In-Demand candidates in that invitation round.

Saskatchewan is also through a separate draw issued one invitation to Ukrainian citizen.
