BC invites more eligible Skilled Workers and International gradates in Tech occupations

27 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination were issued to skilled workers and international graduates in the latest British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) tech pilot draw, which took place on July 18. The invitations were issued to candidates who meet the Tech pilot eligibility requirements, which were updated recently with list of key technology sector occupations and job offer requirements for candidates in these occupations. For these candidates, a full-time job offer of at least one year (365 days) is required among other criteria.

The BC PNP says it launched its Tech Pilot as way to establish British Columbia "as a preferred location for new and emerging technologies, increasing the growth of domestic B.C. tech companies, and removing barriers to attracting skilled workers."
Candidates who obtain an invitation under BC’s Express Entry-aligned streams, such as theEEBC Skilled worker and EEBC- International Graduate streams, obtain 600 additional points under the CRS if their application for provincial nomination is approved.
Skills Immigration candidates with a successful nomination from the province will have their applications for permanent residence processed outside the Express Entry system.
Individuals interested in immigrating to Canada through the BC PNP must first submit an online profile with the BC Immigration registration(SIRS) and complete all components of the form.
Once a profile is assessed, applicants receive a score based on education, work experience, and other factors.
The minimum scores for each category involved in the July 18 were as follows:
