Canada's Parents and Grandparents Program Reopens this month

The Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) is reopening on May 21st, 2024, as announced by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

This year, the program will issue 35,700 invitations targeting individuals who submitted their profiles during the 2020 intake. As part of Canada's family reunification initiatives, the PGP employs a lottery-based system to select eligible sponsors who can then invite their parents or grandparents to become permanent residents of Canada.

Applicants must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria, including the necessary income levels and residency requirements. Invitations will be sent via email over a two-week period starting from the reopening date, and successful applicants will have a specified deadline to submit their complete applications through the Permanent Residence Portal.
