Starting today, Alberta has implemented a new Expression of Interest (EOI) system for worker streams under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP). Applicants must now complete a Worker EOI form through the AAIP portal, providing details like education, language proficiency, and work experience in Alberta.
The following worker streams are impacted:
- Alberta Opportunity Stream
- Rural Renewal Stream
- Accelerated Tech Pathway
- Tourism and Hospitality Stream
These streams now require applicants to submit an EOI, and candidates will be ranked using a points system like the federal Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Those with higher scores are more likely to receive an invitation for provincial nomination. This system aims to better manage application volumes amid high demand and draws for worker streams will begin in mid to late October.
