Starting January 28, 2025, Super Visa applicants can buy health insurance from approved international providers instead of only Canadian insurers. This change lowers costs and increases accessibility while maintaining strict coverage standards.
Applicants will now have more affordable insurance options, reducing the financial strain that previously came with mandatory Canadian-only policies. The process also becomes simpler for those managing their coverage from abroad, eliminating some of the logistical challenges. Ultimately, these changes support family reunification by making it easier for parents and grandparents to visit their loved ones in Canada without excessive financial barriers.
