Amid rising tensions between the Islamic Republic and Israel, Canada has intensified its enforcement against senior officials of the Islamic Republic.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) confirmed that three individuals have been declared inadmissible due to their roles in the Islamic Republic’s regime, with one deported and two others facing removal.
However, the Canadian government has not released the names of these individuals, and no official documents or media reports have confirmed their identities.
Since Ottawa designated Islamic Republic regime officials inadmissible in 2022 over terrorism and human rights concerns, over 17,800 applications have been screened, 131 visas cancelled, and 115 investigations launched.
While 49 cases have been closed without findings of inadmissibility, 12 cases remain active, with hearings already completed in five. The CBSA continues to work with domestic and international partners to safeguard national security.
Human rights advocate Irwin Cotler called for a dedicated agency to combat threats from authoritarian regimes targeting diaspora communities in Canada.
