The province of British Columbia issued 225 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in a draw that was held April 18. In a news update, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) said the invitations were issued to qualified registrants who had a job offer in one of its, Technology Pilot program's 32 key technology occupations.

Created in 2017, the Tech Pilot program works with employers in British Columbia's burgeoning technology sector to attract and hire foreign workers in order to meet labour supply shortfalls.
According to the BC PNP, candidates invited in the April 18 draw were registered in categories under its Skills Immigration and Express Entry pathways.
Candidates who are invited under the Express Entry and International graduate and whose application for provincial nomination is approved by British Columbia receive 600 additional points under the CRS and leaves them well positioned to receive an ITA in a later federal Express Entry draw.
Candidates invited through the Skills Immigration categories will have their applications for permanent residence processed outside the Express Entry system after they receive a nomination from BC.
BC PNP candidates must have an indeterminate, full-time job offer from an employer in the province to become eligible for the majority of Canadian immigration categories managed by the BC PNP.
The minimum scores for each category involved in the April 18 draw were as follows:

It is important to note that an invitation to apply to the BC PNP is not the same as a federal government Invitation to Apply or ITA.
