Manitoba’s Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has issued 906 invitations for skilled workers to apply for permanent residence. These invitations, officially called Letters of Advice to Apply, let selected candidates begin the application process for permanent residency in Manitoba, but do not mean the applicants have received permanent residence yet.
The draw, held on May 7, focused on two main groups. The first targeted people already working in Manitoba’s education sector, including teachers, early childhood educators, and teaching assistants, with 431 invitations issued. The second group included candidates both inside and outside the province who were invited through strategic recruitment efforts. Most of these, 429, were part of a temporary policy designed to help prospective nominees stay in Manitoba while their applications are processed. Smaller numbers were issued through employer referrals, cultural and Francophone communities, and regional programs.
About one-third of all invited candidates already have an Express Entry profile, which could help them move faster through the federal permanent residence process. Manitoba continues to prioritize filling workforce gaps in education and child care while keeping talented newcomers in the province.
