On May 14, 2026, British Columbia held its fifth Skills Immigration draw of the year, sending 437 invitations to people who can make a strong economic impact.
About half of the candidates were chosen because they had high-paying job offers (TEER 0–3 jobs paying at least $59/hour, ≈ $120,000/year). The rest were selected based on their registration scores, with a minimum of 135 points.
This draw is part of B.C.’s “Innovate” initiative, which aims to attract talented workers from all sectors. Future draws may also consider education, professional credentials, work experience, language skills, location, and jobs needed in the province.
This is the third-largest Skills Immigration draw this year, after the April 22 and February 11 rounds. So far in 2026, B.C. has invited 2,143 candidates in this category.
Candidates who get a provincial nomination can then apply to Canada’s immigration department (IRCC) for permanent residence. Registrations last 12 months, and candidates must re-register if their entry expires.
