New Federal Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) Pilot Program

As of late January 2015, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will begin accepting applications for the new Immigrant Investor Venture Capital (IIVC) pilot program. CIC will accept 500 applications for review. Of the 500 applications received approximately 50 will be accepted.

To qualify for the IIVC you must:

    •  have a Canadian post-secondary degree or an educational assessment report to show your foreign education is equal to Canadian education standards,

    •  a net worth of at least $10,000,000 CAD, and

    •  make a $2,000,000 CAD non-guaranteed investment for 15 years into the IIVC fund.

 

Quebec Investor Program Intake Dates

The Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Diversité et de l'Inclusion (MIDI) has announced that the intake dates for Quebec Investor applications will extend from January 19 to March 20, 2015. A maximum of 1750 applications will be accepted. Of which, a maximum of 1200 applications from the People's Republic of China will be accepted. However, candidates who have an advanced intermediate knowledge of French are not subject to the cap and may submit an application at any time.

To qualify you must:

    • • intend to settle in Quebec,

    • • have alone, or with your accompanying spouse net assets of at least $1,600,000 CAD

    • • have management experience, and

    • • agree to invest $800,000 CAD with a financial intermediary authorized to participate in the Quebec Investor Program.

 

The following selection factors are also taken into account:

    • • your age,

    • • your language skills, and

    • • the nature and duration of your professional training.
