According to the latest legislation EB5 investment amounts increased in September 2015. Under the new legislation, investment levels would increase from $500,000 to $800,000 in Targeted Employment Areas (TEAs), and from $1M to $1.2M in non-TEAs. This legislation is expected to be approved and come into effect on September 30, 2015, and EB5 application levels are already increasing.
EB5 program is very popular since there is no language requirement, no age limit, and no management experience requirement. Applicants must have a net worth of minimum $1 million USD, and be able to document the source and path of funds for the investment and fees. There is no longer an OFAC requirement for Iranians, and refused Quebec and Canadian investor cases are welcome to apply to EB5.
Portugal - New Category of Real Estate Investment Proposed
Legislation has been proposed which would create a new category of real estate investment: EUR 350,000 in certain rural areas, or other areas which would benefit from investment (as defined by the Portugal Government). The investment property would have to meet certain development requirements.
The EUR 500,000 investment option, for real estate purchased in Lisbon or other urban areas, is still available. This option is very attractive, as these properties will increase in value, and may be easily rented or sold.
St. Kitts - Visa-free Travel to Brazil
