    Canada has started issuing open work permits to spouses of Canadian Citizens and Residents as they await Permanent residence through spousal sponsorship program

    The changes, which came into effect as of January 2015 as a pilot project for a period of one year , will allow the spouses and common-law partners of Canadian citizens and permanent residents who are urrently residing in Canada to benefit from expedited access to open work permits while their applications for permanent residence are being processed. Eligible applicants will now be able to apply for an open work ermit before the approval in principle decision is made on their application for permanent residence in Canada. Applicants whose permanent resident applications are received after December 22, 2014 will have heir application for an open work permit processed within four months of receipt of their work permit application. An open work permit allows applicants to work for any employer for a specified period of time hile their permanent residence applications are processed.

  • MIDI Announced that Quebec Skilled Worker Applicants Might Now Update their Online Applications

    Quebec’s Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (the Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion, or MIDI) has announced that individuals who have submitted an online application for immigration to Canada through the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) may now update certain information in their application.

  • Minimum CRS score drops to 464 in second Express Entry draw in one day

    A second Express Entry draw took place on Thursday, April 9, where a total of 3,294 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence were issued to Canadian Experience Class candidates with ranking scores of 464 and above.
  • Minimum CRS score of 2018 in the Latest Express Entry Draw- May 23rd, 2018

    The Government of Canada held a new Express Entry draw on Wednesday, May 23, issuing 3,500 invitations to apply for permanent residence. The Comprehensive Ranking System cut-off score for this draw was 440. Today’s draw is the tenth of 2018 and the fourth in a row to issue 3,500 ITAs, bringing the 2018 ITA total to 31,500.

  • Minimum score drops 4 points in November 28 Express Entry draw

    A new Express Entry draw held November 28 has now pushed Canada ahead of the number of invitations issued at this same point in 2017 — a year that set the current Express Entry invitation record of 86,023.

The ranking was released by QS Rankings, which conducts regular major surveys of students worldwide to find the top cities and countries for higher education across various categories.

  • More Accepted Applicants under Nova Scotia’s Express Entry Stream

    The government of Nova Scotia has announced that it will accept up to 300 more applications through the province immigration stream, starting at 9 a.m. local time (8 a.m. EST) on Wednesday, October 11. These applications will be accepted under Category B of the stream. A job offer is not required, but eligible Express Entry candidates must have work experience in an eligible occupation.

  • More Canadian universities allowed welcoming international students

    Canada has updated its list of approved Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) that are currently permitted to welcome international students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program issued 44 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in its latest weekly tech-specific draw held on August 15. Invitations were issued to qualified registrants with job offers in the tech pilot's 29 Priority occupations.

    New statistics from French Consulate in Montreal indicates that there could be over 110,000 French citizens currently living in Montreal. According to the French Consulate estimation, approximately one in two French immigrants register, and 55,000 had done so by 2013. This represents an increase of 45 per cent since 2005.
