Canada's held its fourth Express Entry draw of the year inviting PNP candidates.

Newfoundland and Labrador has secured an extra 1,000 PNP nominations for 2025, increasing its total to 2,525. This follows a deal with the federal government, where the province agreed to take in 290 humanitarian migrants over two years in exchange for a higher PNP quota.

Ontario has issued 30 ITAs under the Entrepreneur Stream and BC issued 177 ITAs in a general draw.

Ontario issued 725 letters of interest to candidates in the Master’s Graduate stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited 535 candidates from the Masters Graduate Stream. Candidates required a score of 35 and above.

In the latest report, job vacancies and payroll employment remain high, while unemployment sees decreases in September.

In its most recent draw under the Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited 1,307 candidates with CRS scores between 405 and 435. The draw targeted 47 skilled trade occupations for Express Entry profiles created between October 17, 2023, and October 17, 2024.

Ontario is investing $25 million more over the next three years, on top of the $15 million over three years that was announced in Budget 2022, to double Ontario’s skilled immigrant intake. The investment will work to address labour shortages and promote economic growth in the province.

After a months-long pause, Ontario has resumed its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws, issuing 3,719 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) across 10 separate rounds on June 3, 2025. These invitations were distributed through three Employer Job Offer streams: Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills.

The PNP has grown in provinence significantly since its launch in 1998 and now accounts for over 80,000 PR admissions per year. The increase in the number of PNP admissions in Canada is because the federal and provincial governments consider it an effective tool to promote the economic development of the country.

This past week, Quebec released its immigration draw results. BC held its weekly Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) round of invitations. Ontario and Manitoba also held PNP draws.

In 2025, Canada is adapting its immigration strategy to better align with national needs.

A total of 127 invitations were under the Labour and Express Entry streams. Nine invitations were issued under PEI’s business impact and work permit stream with a minimum point threshold of 65. The total number of invitations for this draw is less than the most recent draw on May 20, when 153 invitations were issued.

The most recent rounds of invitations under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) were held on July 5. More than 128 candidates received invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in these draws. This week’s draws were aimed at specific sectors of activity.
