MoneySense's annual ranking of the best cities and towns for new immigrants to Canada has been updated for 2016, with various destinations across the country vying to be crowned number one. The ranking system looks at employment rates, rental costs and existing immigrant populations in communities across Canada.

A total of new 5,000 applications for immigration to Quebec, Canada were successfully submitted to the government of Quebec the morning of Tuesday, August 16. These applications were made under the Quebec Skilled worker program which has now reached its intake cap.

April 20th - 2016 - Canadian Immigration authorities conducted the 9th round of invitations under Express Entry in 2016 and 32nd overall, inviting 1018 applicants for permanent residence. It was the twenty-third successive draw under the Express Entry System where the lowest CRS score was under 500.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, one of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs, has reached its maximum allotment of 5,500 nomination certificates for 2017.

The Government of Canada held its largest Express Entry draw of 2018 on September 5, issuing 3,900 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence.
This is the fourth all-program draw in 2018 with a minimum score of 440, which is the lowest (CRS) score drawn in 2018 to date.

Fewer draws and an updated NOC set the stage for a higher number of Express Entry ITAs in 2023.

Immigration Levels Plan Target for 2023

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has unveiled its 2025–2026 Departmental Plan, outlining major reforms that will shape the future of Canadian immigration. The plan includes new pathways to permanent residence (PR), upcoming changes to work and study permit programs, and a continued reduction in temporary resident levels.

The 22nd draw for Canadian immigration through the Express Entry has been performed by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on December 4, 2015. A total of 1,451 invitation to apply ( ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence were issued to candidates with 461 or more (CRS) points.

The province of British Columbia nominated 2,350 Express Entry candidates for Canadian permanent residence in 2017, with a notable boost in the number nominated through its EEBC — Skilled Worker category, a new report shows.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program issued 241 new invitations for a provincial nomination to skilled workers and graduates under its Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams The minimum scores for each category involved in this draw were as follows:

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 2,801 more candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence, in an Express Entry draw that took place on October 4. Candidates in the pool with 438 or more (CRS) points were issued an (ITA) on this occasion.

The latest draw from the Express Entry pool has seen a total of 1,484 candidates being issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence. The 28th draw took place on February 24, 2016, and each candidate who received an ITA had 453 or more Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. This latest draw is good news to prospective applicants, as it marks the second time this year that the CRS point requirement has been as low as 453.

A new Express Entry draw held June 12 invited 3,350 candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

The Government of Canada issued 3,400 invitations to apply for Canadian permanent residence to Express Entry candidates in a draw held January 22. In this draw all candidate who had 471 points or under were selected.

CRS cut-off score drops two points to 460 in July 10 draw

Another 313 candidates have been invited to apply to the Manitoba Provincial nominee program, a Canadian immigration program that allows the province of Manitoba to welcome new immigrants who have the ability to establish themselves and their families in Manitoba, based on eligibility criteria set by the province.

Eligible candidates who are interested in applying to the stream may benefit from being prepared in advance and ensuring they have all documentation up-to-date and ready to submit. Applicants who are successfully nominated by the province of Nova Scotia receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, leaving them well positioned to receive an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence.
