  • Canada links Youth Mobility Arrangement with Portugal

    A new arrangement between Canada and Portugal will give people between the ages of 18 and 35 the opportunity to live and work in either country. Signed May 3, the new bilateral Youth Mobility Arrangement will let 2,000 Canadian and 2,000 Portuguese youth travel and work in each country through the Working Holiday, International Co-op, and Young Professional streams of the International Experience Canada (IEC) program.

  • CIC announces new Federal Skilled Worker category for international students studying towards a PhD in Canada

    CIC has announced the creation of a new Federal Skilled Worker category for international students studying towards a PhD in Canada. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least 2 years of study towards a PhD, or graduated from a Canadian PhD program within the past 12 months. A maximum of 1,000 applications from this category will be considered for processing each year by CIC. The first cap year for the PhD stream begins on November 5, 2011.

  • Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has recently announced that the parent and grandparent sponsorship program (PGP) will be reopening as of January 2nd, 2015 with a limited cap.

    There will be a cap of 5,000 complete applications accepted, the announced cap is the same number as the previous year, that opened in January, 2014. Due to the closure of the program for a few years many applicants have been waiting for the opportunity to submit their application therefore the cap was reached in just three weeks. Given that many potential applicants were not able to submit their applications last year , it is likely that the next application cycle will reach its cap as fast as last year therefore it is strongly suggested to have the applications and all required supporting documents prepared prior to the opening date. It is also important to note that applications received before January 2, 2015 will not be accepted and will be returned to the applicant.

  • Claim for reimbursement of applications submitted under the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) before August 2, 2018

    This form allows you to submit a claim for reimbursement of the fees payable for an application submitted under the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) before August 2, 2018 and covered by the Act to increase Québec's socio-economic prosperity and adequately meet labour market need through successful immigrant integration, which was approved on June 16, 2019.

    New Brunswick Express Entry Labour Market Stream

    This program is based on EOI submission. Candidates who want to apply under New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form within the first 15 days of each month.

    These forms will be evaluated and a score will be assigned to each. And the highest scored candidates will receive an invitation to apply for New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program. The minimum required point for this program will be 67 out of 100.
