Canada has invited 229 physicians to apply for permanent residence in a new Express Entry draw held on September 3, 2026.
The draw targeted the Physicians with Canadian Work Experience category and required a minimum CRS score of just 198, making it the second-lowest cut-off ever recorded for this category.
Candidates with a score of 198 were invited if they had submitted their Express Entry profile before August 6, 2026 at 19:40:38 UTC.
This was the third physician-specific draw of 2026:
- February 19: 391 invitations — CRS 169
- June 24: 271 invitations — CRS 223
- September 3: 229 invitations — CRS 198
Altogether, 891 physicians have received invitations through these draws so far this year.
The low cut-off highlights how differently category-based selection can work compared with regular Express Entry rounds. Just two days earlier, the September 1 Canadian Experience Class draw required a CRS score of 521.
To qualify under the physician category, candidates must have recent Canadian work experience in an eligible physician occupation and also meet the requirements of one of the immigration programs managed through Express Entry.
