Manitoba invites 157 skilled workers and international students

Manitoba invited 157 skilled foreign workers to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence in a new draw held October 24.

The invitations went to candidates in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)’s Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Skilled Worker Overseas and International Education immigration pathways.
Manitoba has issued 6,731 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to skilled worker candidates so far this year.
The invitations, were divided as follows:
• Skilled Worker in Manitoba: 117
• Skilled Worker Overseas: 24

Skilled Worker Overseas
The MPNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas Category allows the MPNP to select and nominate approved foreign workers with skills required in Manitoba’s labour market.
Among other criteria, candidates must have an established connection to Manitoba such as close family or friends, previous education or work experience in the province or an invitation through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
All 24 Skilled Worker Overseas candidates invited in the October 24 draw were invited directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative, which include overseas recruitment missions led by the MPNP.
In order to be considered for a nomination, all candidates must first register an Expression of Interest (EOI).
