Ontario invited 828 Tech workers and French speakers in its new PNP draw.
on February 8, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through two PNP draws.
Out of the 828 total invitations issued, 622 went to candidates who may be eligible for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream. These candidates needed to have a profile in the Express Entry System with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 463 and 467. Also, they needed to have at least one year of work experience in the following six tech occupations listed below by NOC code:
- 0213 Computer and information systems managers
- 2147 Computer engineers
- 2172 Database analysts and data administrators
- 2173 Software engineers and designers
- 2174 Computer programmer and interactive media developers
- 2175 Web designers and developers
The remaining 206 candidates were invited to apply for the French-Speaking Skilled Worker (FSSW) stream. These Express Entry candidates also needed scores between 463-467.
The French-speaking applicants require candidates to have a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of at least 7 in French, and 6 in English. Among other eligibility criteria, the OINP will also want to see that candidates have enough funds to cover settlement costs in Ontario.
Nova Scotia invited 278 nurses to apply for a provincial nomination on February 8
The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) invited candidates who had profiles in the Express Entry system. Nova Scotia periodically invites Express Entry candidates in targeted occupations to apply for a nomination under its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). In the new draw, the NSNP invited nurses who may be eligible for Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities Stream
To get the nomination, candidates need to have a primary occupation as a registered nurse or registered psychiatric nurse. Their duties should align with National Occupational Classification (NOC) 3012.
They will need to provide letters of reference from employers to demonstrate that they have at least three years of experience in their occupation.
Invited candidates need to have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 9 or higher in English or French in all language abilities. They also need to hold a bachelors degree or have completed a program of at least three years at a post-secondary institution.
British Columbia invites 198 in new PNP draws
British Columbia invited 198 immigration candidates through Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws held on February 8.
The majority of the invitations, 188, were sent through a general draw. These candidates received invitations if they met the minimum score requirements between 77 and 120 depending on the program for which they are eligible.
Another draw targeted candidates whose occupation falls under NOC 0621 (retail and wholesale trade managers) or NOC 0631 (restaurant and food service managers). That draw resulted in 10 invitations with minimum scores of 120 across the board.
