Kathleen Weil the Quebec immigration minister provided the structure of a new immigration policy expected attracting immigrants who can succeed in the provincial labour market.

According to the latest legislation EB5 investment amounts increased in September 2015. Under the new legislation, investment levels would increase from $500,000 to $800,000 in Targeted Employment Areas (TEAs), and from $1M to $1.2M in non-TEAs. This legislation is expected to be approved and come into effect on September 30, 2015, and EB5 application levels are already increasing.

On Wednesday the parliamentary commission looking into immigration reforms was told by human rights officials that workplace racism persists in Quebec.
